07-25-11, 10:18 AM #1kicked for not being in a squad (I was commander)
Hello all,
I was playing last night (Sun 2011-07-24) as commander for the Chinese was was kicked (only for 1 minute) around 23:30 EDT for not being in a squad (I believe the map was Dalian Plant). I came back, and no commander was present for the Chinese. I recognize I may not be the best commander, but I was trying, and there was no mutiniy. While at first my mic mute was turned on, once I was notified the problem was corrected. I see there was a "similar" situation recently ( Kicked for...? ).
My intention is _not_ to create more problems, and definitely not to get sucked into problem forums -- rather, to identify "what was done incorrectly", so as to improve for next time.
regards,
donfede

Re: kicked for not being in a squad (I was commander)
Most likely you were kicked on accident while trying to kick another player for being unsquaded. You would not be kicked as commander for doing a bad job. If you were fighting or flying as a commander you would get kicked for not doing the job you signed up for. I wasn't on at that time so i cant give you a definitive answer other then what i have already said. We try to avoid accidental kicks but if the program updates while kicks are being done then the players shift on the screen and out goes someone we weren't looking to kick.
Dont take it personal if it happens once in a while as we do try to avoid it. Also keep in mind if you just signed up as commander when it happened or just joined a squad the program may not have updated and you will be listed as an unsquaded player. This is why we have a 45 second window at the begining of every round. Once the round starts kicking can begin because there was plenty of time to squad up already. However i dont think you will find a single admin doing that. Warning are usually issued prior to the kicks as a courtesy for those that over looked it.

Re: kicked for not being in a squad (I was commander)
WARNING[7/24/2011 10:04:12 PM] ============== Server Say: WARNING!!! donfede692 Sorry Don, was kicking the unsquads and the list moved (Edit was to the name of the Admin who issued the kick)
Just to explain this Don. When we the Admins sort the player list so that we can find the unsquaded players. It lumps them in order of time on the server from most time to least time. Unfortunately, BF2CC the program manager we use counts the COMMANDERS as being unsquaded. We do our best to not get COMMANDERS when taking care of the unsquaded players. The problem is that when you kick one unsquaded player and the COMMANDER was in the slot right below them, it moves them up. I believe that every Admin at on time or another has had this issue. We understand it's a big inconvenience and it has the bad side of rendering a team without a COMMANDER. We appreciate you bringing this up in a manner of reasonable questioning, in hopes of bettering the situation. Rest assured we will always do our best to keep this from happening.

Thx for the feedback all. No action to change process is required (on my part at least -- I live in IT, and recognize !@#% and bugz happen). When I returned, I did not re-apply for commander, not knowing the situation (intentional or accidental). I made a note via text chat, and I believe at that time Bravo stepped into the role. Next time I'll just press on and resume.
best,

Also, donfede692 after you were kicked and came back the admin put up an apology for kicking accidentally (It's in the log's I can post them up this after noon; when I get home. Or if one of the other admins could. (Just for record)) due to the BFCC list refreshing and moving you into a slot of another player who was meant to be kicked for not being squaded up. This happens to the best of us as Bravo and Deathgod have said. We apologize and hope to see on the field. Good hunting soldier...
Respectfully,

Re: kicked for not being in a squad (I was commander)
I covered it H7. I just edited my post to HIGHLIGHT the chat log that I found from yesterday's log. I just took the liberty of editing out the Admin's name who issued the kick as well as the warning issued to Don, addressing the Admin's mistake with the kick.
This is done, unless a High would like to weigh in on the matter.****************11B*************** Look for Pathfinder75thB in TeamSpeak! ***************11B*****************
