Iran steps up nuclear production - CNN.com

TEHRAN, Iran (CNN) -- Iran's nuclear fuel production has reached the "industrial phase," the country's atomic chief said on Monday ahead of a major speech by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

"We have gathered, thanking Almighty God for the introduction of the uranium enrichment program to the industrial phase, and once again we thank Almighty God for allowing us to attain industrial enrichment plans," said Iran's Atomic Energy Organization head, Gholamreza Aghazadeh, addressing an audience at the Natanz uranium enrichment facility in central Iran

Earlier on Monday, Iran's chief nuclear negotiator said Tehran was ready to resume serious negotiations over its nuclear ambitions, Iranian state media reported.

Ali Larijani said Iran hoped to reach an agreement with Western powers that would "remove their worries" without compromising its own scientific development, Iranian state media reported.

"Today, with the nuclear fuel cycle complete, we are ready to begin real negotiations with the aim of reaching an understanding," Larijani was quoted as saying in a speech in the eastern city of Mashad.

"We are ready to negotiate and reach an agreement with Western countries in order to remove their worries about nuclear Iran without putting an end to our scientific development."

The comments came as Ahmadinejad was expected to offer details of "good news" on Iran's nuclear program during an address at Natanz.

So, what is the next move?
We surely are not going to let this nutjob country have nukes.
I wonder what Iran has to say to "ease" everyone...

Iran's probably just trying to stall for time while it gets its first few nukes set up, once that's done it's really academic as to whether we want them to have the things or not.

Good idea Nusentinsaino!!! We should nuke Iran before they nuke Europe...after all their missile's will not reach here but I guarantee the nut case would shoot some there way....

the difference between this nutjob nation and say the US or old USSR was that we had them for deterance. But this guy does not care about that he will launch them and then when he dies go see his slutty virgins.....

Frankly I wouldn't mind if Iran had access to nuclear power. It is a nation's right to provide power to its population. However, it becomes entirely unacceptable when that nation has an alterior motive in construction a reactor. And considering the instability of both the government and the entire region, Iran having a nuclear capability is not good for world stability. Therefore, Iran must in the interests of world peace and prosperity give up its nuclear program, at least until tensions ease.
