Ewww gross visual (but somehow appropriate)

My favorite classes are Medic and Scout

I love healing and medic is about as team oriented as you can get; when I feel like going offensive though, I love the speed and quick capture ability of the scout. Plus you can easily circle behind the enemy on maps like granary and take out the opposing team's medics.

Unfortunately scouts are not always useful (like Veovis points out), so I'll go engineer or soldier depending on what's more appropriate.

I'm not full of candy, Joe. But I do love 2112, btw. I don't know if it was intended to parallel Ayn Rand's Anthem, but that's the first thing I thought of when I listened to the title track for the first time. (sorry for the thread-jacking)

The other day I ran into two medics and one heavy taking back point 4 (their point 2) on granary. I killed one medic, and then the other medic put uber on the heavy. I was like, holy cow, they ubered a heavy to stop a scout! I ran around the corner and they stayed on the point (no longer capping of course, because of the uber). I came back from the other side as the uber ran out, dropped the medic and got the heavy twice in the back before he turned around, and managed to finish him off as he dropped my health to almost nothing.

Granted, the heavy sort of sucked. But it was still satisfying.

The downside to playing Scout is that if you care about stats your K will suck. Success stories like the one above are scarce, but you can respawn and get back to battle fast enough after death, that you can still be a top scorer even if you die twice as much as you kill. Scout is also one of the only ways to play lone wolf without feeling guilty, with the exception of spy obviously, and some other classes for certain cases.

The biggest obstacle as a scout are sentries IMO. You can do fairly well against really any class, you just have to use hit and run tactics and ambushes.

Well the uber is truly wasted if the Medic dies, and you just got done killing the second Medic, so you just proved your a real threat.

Additionally, since you can turn off the uber mid-way and preserve the remaining time, it's not like your wasting a whole uber on a scout, just some of it (and I'd say surviving is putting the uber to good use; a dead Medic is a useless one)

Hmm, I didn't know that until just a few minutes ago from this thread. Neat.

Only 2 votes for sniper? I'm shocked.

L3 Sentries effectively stop everyone cold unless they have access to long-range explosives or sappers

I'm still not sure if, as Pyro, I hate L3 sentries or Soldiers more.

Soldiers. Bastards take way too long to die, even point blank.
