How to play versus multiplayer offline?
Problem: we have the game, we have LAN, we have no internet connection, we play coop easily, we can't play versus.
I have seen this done without bots (the fix with human infected against bot survivors is not interesting), just a dedicated server and a few console commands, so it can be done! - any of you guys know how?

No clue.
In the past we have had people come here asking how to play with friends offline, using pirated versions of the game they downloaded from warez sites.
I am not saying you or your friends did, I am just saying that we really can't help players unless they are playing the game using Steam and an Internet connection.*********************************

We are a youth club with 13 computers and our PCs are offline to avoid massive amounts of porn being downloaded and talked about to parents.
Anyone? Left 4 Dead has turned out a really cumbersome experience for offline use, so much easier with Counter Strike and Team Fortress.
