    imo the axe was already the best melee weapon out there. and the only time i could think of axing some1 whos not on fire is during server priming but who really cares about that

    haha i just thought of something great, demo or soldier is in the air with little health and ur below him, i dont no how strong it is but if its pretty strong...then u airblast him straight up so he falls to his death lol

    Also, everyone (including me) seems to be assuming that the axetinguisher crit damage is based off the original axe damage, but it could be based off the reduced damage. But if it is as assumed, then it is no more a flat-out improvement than the ubersaw is. I will not be surprised if that trend continues with the remaining class updates.

The arena-style control points require solid teamwork to capture and hold.

    An axe that does half the damage, when it crits will do 1.5x the dmg of a normal axe swing...Hardly a crit. Sure its 100% chance if they are on fire, but there is still a tradeoff.

    im not really that excited about this. Sure, i love playing pyro, but in 2.5 hours, so will everyone else. I could really do without the new axe, but I like the flare gun though, long range is nice. I'm also fairly stoked about the new flamer, has a new style to it. no more WAAAAAAAAGH! right into the base. Now you have to be able to pull off spy to use that, but when you do....oh boy...

    Typically, Valve has released updates 5pm Pacific time, but I think I read somewhere it was 11am Pacific. I can't find the source though.

    I don't know fastlane, but I'm not a big fan of turbine... They could've picked a better one IMHO.
