    well i do feel comfortable with several classes but most of my playtime is with engi and i feel im best at spy so im actually really looking forward to these 2. but i wont be playing much of either of these 2 classes around the time it comes out. Im actually gonna get my pyro unlocks done on spy week and hopefully demo comes out before engi so i can do that 1 on engi week

    I just got back from a week of vacation and played the new updates last night. Pretty cool stuff. I was relieved to see that the pyro wasn't as overpowered as people over on steam forums are whining about.

    Played some goldrush and juggled a bunch with soldier just like usual.

    Playing as pyro, the new compressed air feature is sweet. Haven't gotten any of the unlocks yet, but I'm not sure I would even use them. I prefer to ambush with only the axe because it confuses people, and the new axe seems to only work if you light them first.

    These are dark days for spies though.

    And that's exactly why they got the achievements first. Pyros and Medics(to a lesser degree) needed some class buffs/changes to even the playing field. The only reason why people are crying about Pyros now is because Pyros can actually hold their own in combat. Pre-pyro achievements, you run into a pyro, especially as a soldier, and the pyro was going to be defeated more often than not. With the unlocks, they have a fighting chance. I like how Valve is doing the achievements releases one at a time. They're providing intrigue to classes that are less played than the demo, soldier, engi, heavy, etc. The next question is...which class is next? Sniper? Scout?

    Engy. That is my bet.

    Reasons being as follows, the first update was Medic a "special" class. Second was pyro an "offensive" class. Next will be a "defensive" class. And there was something one of the developers said in an interview about the pyro where they were talking about upgradeable teleports.

    *shrug* that is my two cents.

    So the thinking for engis is upgraded buildings, not upgraded weapons?

    Well, they could still upgrade the weapons. So far the updates have included 3 unlocks for each class, and in the case of the pyro a modification to an existing weapon (air blast) was made in addition to the three unlocks. So, if Arreo's theory is right and the teleporter is upgraded, the engy would probably still have 3 weapon unlocks on top of that.

    I think it would be really hard to do unlocks for engi weapons. I mean, you only have a pistol and a shotgun. They don't really have a theme like the pyro and medic does to do variations on, other than the buildings. It would make more sense(to me, anyway) to do variations of the buildings you can make than it would be to change the weapons.

    But, I don't think they'll be the next to get unlocks. I got a feeling it's going to be scout or sniper, and that Valve will wait until later to get to the more used classes. Just IMO, though.

    Maybe a wrench that repairs more per hit? But can't halve the rebuild time of his buildings with it? I know it feels like it takes forever for your stuff to set it self up But the repairing more per hit would make it essential to get that Heavy really close or have that Demo always getting the Uber to take out the building.

    CS-Nation: (From: FreeHugsForAll) There's been talk about an upgradable teleporter for the Engineer. Will there actually be an upgradable teleporter that can possibly teleport multiple persons at once or recharge faster?

    Walker: We've been playtesting an upgradeable teleporter, where the level affects the recharge time. It's working out well, so it's likely that you'll see something like it in the Engineer pack.

    CS-Nation: What criteria do you use when selecting what class will be next to earn unlockables?

    Walker: So far we've chose classes that were low in popularity (like the Medic), or had significant design problems (the Pyro). There are other classes that have similar popularity & design problems that we'll most likely be looking at next.
