The reason why I don't like the homewrecker is simply because it ruins the Spy's ability to get rid of an Engineer nest. Imagine this scenario, you get in undetected, you find an Engineer, stab and sap and get out. You tell your team it's clear, then all the sudden you see your sappers destroyed by the Homewrecker. That is infuriating, for your plans to be ruined by a weapon that serves no other purpose but to piss Spies off.
Admit it, if it couldn't destroy Sappers, nobody would use it. It's a weapon that should not be in the game in the first place.Last edited by Watsyurdeal?; 06-18-10 at 03:51 AM.

It's not his job to do the work of an Engineer, his job is to burn, sear, and combust every single person he meets.

Spies have absolutely nothing to complain about, the homewrecker is a niche weapon designed to give engineers a much needed boost. You have to appreciate how dependent the pyro is on the axtinguisher, and giving up a key weapon for the betterment of a (for now) weaker class is about as teamplay as it gets. Boohoo spies now can't lonewolf a sentry nest and expect to always succeed, the engineer is already getting the short end of the stick from soldiers and especially demomen hell even most ubers are used solely to take down sentry guns, the last thing we need is spies being able to take down emplacements singlehandedly.

Engineers have yet to receive an update, that's why it's difficult. I'm going to guess you'll get some pretty awesome stuff here soon enough.
I never said that, don't put words in my mouth. I said the Homewrecker was unfair because Pyros already have enough advantages against the class. It should take two swings, imo. There are plenty of times where an SG would've died from a sapper, but it was left with 20-30 Health because of the Homewrecker, since the Pyro was late to the Party. If the Pyro is there, and sees the stab-sap, and the spy gets away, I think that's fair game. It's when a Pyro appears at 8 of 9 seconds to kill the sapper that I don't think that's fair game.

Big deal, a scout with a scatter gun could take out a sentry with 30 hp left. When the spy has stabbed the engineer and crippled a sentry to that point the work is already done, and the gun already dead without repair. The engineer's chance to get to his gun in time to repair it is slim at best, but he deserves that chance.
