Thread: No more TF2 class updates this year

Team Fortress 2 won't receive any more class updates until 2009, reports ShackNews. Valve marketing vice president Doug Lombardi confirmed, saying "it won't be this year, but we're going to keep evolving TF2. Once Left 4 Dead wraps, you'll hear us clamoring more about [the next TF2 update]." There has been no word on what class is next in line for new loadout weapons.

Don't they have separate teams for L4D and TF2? Why should L4D stop them?

Hopefully the next update will have at least 2 classes for us to use.

Might see some more maps in the mean time to tide us over... It's actually been a while since any TF2 update

See, I hope they do it this way. It would cut down on the class-stacking and achievement whoring.

Their pulling the TF2 team off of TF2 to help them get L4D done in time, they did this earlier and apparently have to do it again for some reason.

Even two at once would be good, as long as everyone doesnt want to be just one class

I don't think they would do it in one release. I mean, isnt the whole point behind these updates to keep people interested in the game, and to introduce new stuff for people to try out and have fun with? That's part of what makes the game so awesome! If I were them, and I wanted to keep up the interest in the game and keep new people buying it, I'd keep releasing it in small bits.
