Ultimately, your team is responsible to hold the defense, and the defense is by no means limited to the current cap point. I can also agree, however, that it does rob one of game longevity and possibly fun."Political Correctness is a cancer to our Society and a Direct Threat to our free speech," The Oozish One

What I guess I'm saying is that a tactic that makes me feel cheated when I'm on the side that's using it is one that should be considered carefully.

Re: Ninja Cap?
Ive taken the role of ninja capper in many o` occasion and would deem it awesome. Boring or not, I just won the round for my team. How is it any different than my team steamrolling through to the last point without stopping from the last cap 30 seconds later?
I will say that there is also some timing and luck involved with it. It still takes a few seconds to cap so if you have people running out of spawn already, youre a dead man.
Communication is key. You might have to hide out for a good 3-4 minutes in order to get the ninja cap but as long as you notify your team of the tactic and they arent in need of your assitance to sap some sentries or backstab some snipers/heavies, I say have at it hoss.

Yes, dirty and awesome. But extra awesome.
Don't underestimate the advantage of wasting people's time. If a spy slips by first cap and gets to second, but his team is having trouble at first cap, he can start wasted the defense's time by sapping teleporters, getting sneaky backstabs, and then getting 2 or so defenders to start hunting him down. I would be opposed to a spy just sitting there for 5 minutes doing nothing.

I'd have to agree with f00l here. If you can get by the defenses and you can mess with the guys behind their lines, some people will start dropping off the front to hunt for you. It might make it easier for your own team depending on how effective you are. But if you just hide and wait on the point, I feel like its stupid, unless you know your team is absolutely stacked and will get the first point easily.
I've ninja capped that stage a few times (not on this server) and my team was very happy, but then a few stages later they did the same to us and the people on my team were pissed, obviously forgetting we had just won like that...
another place you can do it is fast-capping points like the 3rd point on Badlands. Again, you shouldn't just wait there on the point to cap unless you're guaranteed the previous one. Just a few nights ago, I was playing spy and I ran into their base to get health, but then we got a scout and a demo on the spire so instead of getting health I ran to the last point and we won. I think its much better like that, when you do what you can and then take the opportunity if it arises. Sitting around waiting, unless you're a god-awful spy and won't accomplish anything (which you shouldn't be, even just constantly sapping a gun is useful), is kind of dirty
