Thread: Backburner the true pyro?

The pyro is an ambush class, it's main weapon is surprise.

All I know is that Fire at Will has perfected the Backburner and makes me check my back as a Medic more than I care to if he is on the opposing team. He was killing me left and right on Turbine last night.

"Butt-rape" is quite appropriate.

valve designated the pyro as an "offensive" class. How people use it is up to them, I think the pyro's reputation for being an ambush class would be lessened if they had the airblast at launch. That was a failure on their part, the pyro became an ambsh class not entirely because it was strong there, moreso because that was the only way to survive.

Yeah, back at launch being a Pyro was cute. Sneak up on a Soldier, fry his ass, and watch him turn around and go "Oh hey free points!" and kill you and continue on his way.

It's not really too much different now. Only difference being you can occasionally make him eat his own rocket, which is highly satisfying.

yeah, pyro was such a pain back then. How did a soldier kill a pyro? Fire a rocket at his own feet, taking like 15 damage and killing the pyro.

Well, Pyro's are like little care bears anyway. They blow up so easily. So what you do is try to burn as many fucking enemys as you can before going out in a blast of feathers.
In this case, the back burner helps, and it sounds more rough too!
