A new, exciting camp has been created for players who have Halos. Come on down to Auschwitz Adventure Camp. The part I find amusing are the people who say the process for getting hats being random based on time is stupid, and it should have been based on achievements, are the same people who used achievement servers to get most of their achievements. Don't you realize that is what Valve was trying to eliminate by making it random? They didn't want people just whoring the achievements just to get perks. Just play the game, and if you get free stuff be happy.

What I don't understand is why people are so elitist about people playing normally for achievements. Aren't update (insert class here) frowned upon almost everywhere? Face it, a mass crack down on achievement servers means that anyone who's new is going to try and whore it out on pub servers :/

You act like you HAVE to have the achievements, so you HAVE to do something to get them. Just play the damn game, and if you get them be happy. I don't play any differently before, during, or after an update.

I think the debate is funny.

If you play on idling servers or pistol and knife servers (the EA equivalent of "achievement" servers) EA will wipe your account. All of it...medals,badges,awards,scores...all of it (not just what you gained on the cheater server). The EA ones don't even use any secondary software...all they do is make illegal rules. Those that cheated for something as stupid as a hat is hilarious. The fact that they would try to cheat a system so they could play "dress-up" with their video game character,and then defend it cracks me right the hell up.

I never said any of that... but I suppose it is true in its own right. Some people DO act as if they HAVE to have all the achievements. and I never said you played differently. I'm refering to 'people' in the context of 'people who want achievements for hats' , not anyone here on TTP(though anyone who might be reading this could fall under that category)

My post was not to you specifically. There are many people that have bitched that it is Valve's fault that they HAVE to idle to get hats, and they should be based on achievements. Many of those same people used achievement servers, which Valve frowns upon just as much as idling, so what difference does it make whether they were one or the other. I guess actually playing the game, with my friends, and following the TTP rules is more important to me than getting a hat or gun, but what do I know?

The effect should extend to idle/achievement servers as well. The achievements are all easy to get through normal gameplay, and so are the items they reward. There are definitely some esoteric ones, but you can easily hit the milestones without doing those.

I still don't get why there is so much elitism around getting hats during play as opposed to sitting in an empty map on a LAN server you run yourself :/

still, achievements are there to teach a person how a class works. achievement server or not, they get the job done no matter what method you use

Indeed, plenty of people are kicking and screaming over this like it matters. It's a no-frills cosmetic item. Doesn't change gameplay in the least.

Valve has spoonfed you all enough free content to match a gameplay expansion, and still continues to do so. If you've got to complain about every little thing it adds with the community in mind, go cry some more.

Lol It's alright, I guess I'm just in debate mode right now x.X I can get really mean when it comes for forum debates.

Quite honestly... random is the fairest way. I just wish people would get off their high horses on both sides :/

Tl;dr before I write another essay: people should just stop caring what other people do and start playing tf2 again :/
