Demomen annoy me
Why? Because of stickies, players plant traps with them, spam them everywhere, and just overall are in my opinion kinda cheap. Sure, it takes skill to play demo well, but if playing demo well means just spamming stickies everywhere I seriously question how balanced the class is compared to the others.
After typing this up a bit, I have to ask some questions.
1. Is sticky spam typical of demos or is it just some of them who are just being noobish?
2. I know the demo man has received countless nerfs, is his raw power now the reason why?
3. And finally, your thoughts on the class, overpowered? underpowered? balanced?

Re: Demomen annoy me
ok the sticky spamming is typical because there are so few demos... a demo who is good knows how to use his stickies smartly.... he will always beat out the simple sticky whore
the demo has no reason to be nerfed anymore... they are not overpowered.... most of the time some one is killed by a noobish demo it is out of stupidity

Re: Demomen annoy me
Off TTP servers(because I can never do good on TTP as demo), I experiment with Demoman a lot. I for the life of me cannot get Sticky spam to work, even when I know people will be coming through an area. Only when I concentrate on one area can I get any kills using stickies
so I guess it is noobish to spam

Demos spam stickies because its their job. I know there's demos out there that don't seem to know what the nade launcher is but you usually find them on generic 32 player fast re-spawn servers. Most demos on TTP are fluent with the language of pipes from my experience.

Re: Demomen annoy me
Demomen are good at forcing opponents to take another route or die. It's diversionary, mostly. After those first two to three kills, I tend to see people predicting my stickytraps here at TTP.
They are a mid-long range weapon which can have insane burst damage. Pills are for covering your tracks, long-range mid-air detonation (like on Dustbowl 1-1, firing from the platform outside the building towards the "main" gate at a certain angle or higher makes them explode on people's heads), or close-mid combat. At least that's my opinion. The bottle is just for fun. Or when you're out of everything else.

As for most offensive classes, there can be some lucky breaks in their play but you can still take them 75-80% of the time. Its those 'pros' that you have to watch out for.
Oh Ooze... Where are you?
Last night we were getting absolutely worked on Steel by RADIO RAHEEEEEM (seeing a lot more of him lately) and Maxwell Murder, both demos with medics on them. They tore our entire team apart on defense and offense no matter what we threw at them. There you just have to give credit where credit is due. But if youre dying/losing to random demo spam, it might be time to change your gameplan. First time sticky trapped, shame on thee, second time, shame on me.

I looked at the stats of the top pro demos and was interested to see that the ratio of kills for pipes vs. stickies was 25% pipe kills to 75% sticky kills. This was for demos like destro & solid snake. I think that's about right.
I'm not sure what you mean by spam but I try to aggressively use stickies to attack and use grenades when in close and when spamming entrances/doors and such. By spam I'm sure you don't mean traps. If by spam you mean the demos backtracking and throwing down stickies, then lol, that's what most newb demos are able to do, they aren't going to do anything much cooler than that cause they won't know how. LIke I said, you play demo for a bit and see how it goes.
Also, one sticky by your feet does wonders when engaged with a scout and the grenade launcher. As a demo I just want to kill fast, cause if you get too close I'm in trouble. So you'd have to learn what weapon is best for each situation you find yourself in; and of course the 2 work best together in 1vs1; especially vs. scouts.
As for demo being OP? lol, to those that say that I say play demo yourself and see if you think that. I agree with blaze that on payload maps where you always have a bunch of people on the cart the demo is at his most powerful, but on CP maps and 6vs6 situations if anything the scout is OP, but certainly not the demo.
edit: Oh ya, radio raheem is a great soldier and I don't know how good a demo is but I imagine pretty good too. I've seen him alot on the DM server. Hopefully he'll come to this forum and be a more normal reg, cause he is an excellent player.
edit #2: Oh ya, and what class do you like playing? I recall you being a SPY? Like that's not annoying haha, joking. (but true)."Political Correctness is a cancer to our Society and a Direct Threat to our free speech," The Oozish One
