I have been told that when I speak in TF2 I block out all other sounds in the game. I figured this was because what I had to say was so important, but it seems that others have issues with this.

I have uptodate drivers for my sound card. is there anything else I can do to try to fix this issue?

I have a similar issue. It isn't that I block out everyone else, it's just that my microphone sounds like I'm in a wind tunnel. For all other games, it works fine. Any suggestions for TMD?

Ive always had issues with TF2 automatically maxing out my in-game mic settings no matter what way I tried to change them and of course mic volume and mic boost arent cvars you can change in your config. I ended up just turning my mic down in Windows and up in all game settings (except for TF2).

Or you could have some oscillating fan blowing too close to your mic (which I have seen/heard happen too).

no fans or anything like that.

It cuts all other ingame audio when I transmit from OTHER people's computers.
I talk and hear all my sounds fine, but I KILL other people's sounds on their systems when I talk.

hummm? so maybe it only effects some people then. I had someone comment on it that same night.

Though, I do know what you mean - the last time I blacked out on sound, I got stabbed by a rather obvious dead ringer spy because I glitched right as he popped up behind me.
