TTP TF2 Top Plays - April/May 2010
Welcome to TTP's Top TF2 Plays of the Month!
This is the place to submit your top TF2 plays to get a chance to be in the monthly production for all to see. Its quite simple to enter with just a few rules:
• Plays must be on recorded on TTP soil (Main, Top5, 24/7 or Match Server) or be a match with at least one TTP resident clan.
• For the sake of production consistency, only demos will be accepted (no videos).
• Demos will only be accepted with placeholder notes of starting and ending ticks (see below).
• This is purely for fun, so no griping about rankings of plays.
Also keep in mind that while we encourage as many submissions as we can get every month, make sure theyre 'Top Play' worthy. We want to see some amazing plays here. Think of it as the screenshots thread in motion.
With that being said, lets first start out with
How To Record A Demo In TF2
1. Ensure you have the console enabled in your TF2 options.
2. When you are ready to start recording, go into console (~) and type record demoname (where demoname is what you want to name the demo).
3. When you are ready to stop recording, go into console (~) and type stop.
4. Demos will be saved in your TF2 directory (C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\youremail\team fortress 2\tf).
The best thing to do is to just have a bind for both record demoname and stop. That way you can easily record a whole round/map and make a mental note of any plays you think would make the cut. Nothing amazing happened? Then you can easily overwrite that demo by hitting that bound key next round/map! You may also try this suggestion of a script made out to record multiple demos.
As mentioned above, you will need to help our crack team of video editors by
Finding Start Tick & End Tick
1. Open TF2, open the console (~), and type demoui2 to get the following:
2. Click on Load... and browse to your demo file.
3. Your demo will load and you will be able to navigate to the desired time of the play by using the slider.
4. Find the start of your play and take note of the tick shown in the UI.
5. Find the end of your play and take note of the tick shown in the UI.
6. Exit TF2.
Now you have all the necessary elements for a proper submission.
How To Submit A Play
1. Compress your file using WinZip, WinRar, or 7Zip.
2. Upload your file using a file storage site (www.megaupload.com would be one suggestion).
3. Make a post in this thread with the following items:
• in-game name
• demo file url
• start tick
• stop tick
Every month there will be a timeframe to get your submissions in. After that timeframe, all plays will be looked at and the top plays will be compiled into a video showcasing the top TTP plays of that month and posted for your viewing pleasure.
***NOTE*** Demos get broken by TF2 updates, so only demos recorded after the most recent update are valid for now until the next update.

lol, i don't know if it's too late for March but this is some serious carnage on badwater with tons of airshots etc. I'd like this to go with the flying swordsman (cause it's so funny) from my previous post if it's not too late and if these qualify. If it's too late for march consider this my April submission, thanks!
nice airshot: 2400-2900
multiple airshots, double airshot kills, sentry kills and total carnage: 6000-9000; long one but good one.

Re: TTP TF2 Top Plays - April 2010
Got another huntsman bit here, impressed a couple people with it. I killed a team of 3.
First I miss a soldier moving for cover, I jarate him instead of taking a second shot. He then trys to jump over cover and shoot me. I time the shot right in time with his jump, I landed a body shot that had a mini-crit thanks to the jarate. Then I pullback and headshot another soldier while a scout is pistoling me. The scout then trys to get close to me to shoot me... His mistake, I lead him all the way down and took the shot when he was close enough to hit instantly. One hit body shot, I believe.
Start tic: 4400
End tic: 5600

Watsyurdeal Submission 1
ttp040610_2
map: Goldrush
start tick: 183500
end tick: 185800
Description: Quad kill with Equalizer, not much but it was pretty fun and rather epic. considering that my team was rushing to push the cart to finish.
Btw, why does January not have any commentary?
