Here is my trick for improving pipe aim... Think if every pill as being very precious. Fire that pill as if you are reluctantly letting go of a valuable, rare, unique kind of thing. You are letting it go, but only because you must... and not hitting something with it would be an unthinkable waste. This framing can make a huge difference for me.
This trick works for other things too. I often cross the line between being brave and being suicidal, and it really helps to frame my life as a precious thing and to think if dying as a horrible thing. I suppose I ought to be thinking that way to begin with

Another problem for me is that I can convince myself that I'm aiming when I'm really just shooting in somebody's general direction. I can get around that if I place importance on not wasting pills. For me, there appears to be a benefit in trying things to the outcome (hit) rather than the process (aiming).
