Small map change request
Dear sir or Madam,
You are receiving this letter to tell you that Langrad "He has A critz!" MF!, has noticed a certain server killing behavior from you or someone you may know. At the end of a map do you disconnect? If you answered yes you have been assisting the mass quitting that is so prevalent in Valve games. When people see one or two players they like playing with leave they begin to think that it is a good time to disconnect themselves. In the future, if you are going to leave, please do so during the next map change. People cant see you leave and hopefully they will start playing the next map and wont realize you are missing.
Cordially,
Langrad "Such Bullshit" MF! (Esq)

Re: Small map change request
Both of those degrees are from unaccredited institutions.... Or you printed them yourself!
I usually disconnect when:
1) The wife starts screaming and throwing things at me
or
2) I have a kid bleeding...
I will try to do so only after a map change...

Re: Small map change request
Usually TF2 wont let me dc when a map is loading. If someone is going to dc, I dont think its going to make a difference if they see people dc at the end of a map (very common for people to do), or loading the next map seconds later and seeing only 10 people connect. Plus, I really cant help if people want to be like me to the degree that they dc when I do. 8)

Re: Small map change request
Point taken. If you dc a few minutes before the change map your spot is filled with a fresh player. If 4-5 quit at map change then a few more say good time to quit now the pop. is down to 10 and server dies. Makes great since Mr Crit, thank you for your insight

Re: Small map change request
Good call, sir. I shall wait until the map load screen to bail on Granary and Well.
by the way, that's somewhat tongue-in-cheek about Granary & Well, but, I see hlstatsx keeps 1 day history of map vs. server population:
http://texasteamplayers.hlstatsx.com/overview/2
but a few questions...
1) does it go back farther than 1 day? i.e. can we see which maps are killers and which ones aren't over, say, a month?
2) I know we vote on Top 5, but do we eliminate maps from rotation on the main server based on whether or not population dies when it pops up?
Sorry for asking this if it's been answered before, and I know everyone has their own individual bitch about any map, but I remember awhile back, we cut out pipeline (or drastically reduced its occurrence) based on some discussion here in the forums about it being a server population killer, and I recall we ended up pulling some data to back it up (I think?). Usually, I'm just happy to play any map, bad or good, with the teamplayers. Thanks in advance, guys.
