Direct x8

If i have been having problems ever since direct x 9 came out. Should i try to go back to direct x8? How do i do this?

In the tf2 launch options type: -dxlevel 81

Since Dx8 makes ubers look too lame, put this in the .cfg file you use or open up the console and type: mat_bumpmap "1". This will return shiny ubers.

If you lower your settings from the defaults then only get rid of the -dxlevel 81 after you launch the game once... It will keep it at dx 8 even without the launch code but will reset your video settings if you keep it on

yup put it in the launch options (right click tf2 in steam), load tf2 once, then quit and remove it from launch options

either way you'll still get pwned since you dont tf2 as much as you should anymore
