Re: Is Heavy too good now?
Why should the slow on Natascha be changed/reduced? Why should the heavy spinup/down movement speed be changed?
You guys have not really given any reasons other than it annoys you, and you have a hard time killing them. In terms of game balance how do the current stats "break" the game, and how should they be changed to "fix" it?
And to those who think the speed reduction should be reduced at range IT ALREADY IS! A target is not immediately slowed to the minimum, but instead each hit stacks until the minimum is reached. At range the never happens because the hits are so sporadic. I do not now how many hits it takes, but it feels like 3-5 in quick succession with each slow lasting about one second. If you play with the Natascha much will notice the difference as you get better at tracking a target.

Re: Is Heavy too good now?
Dumb, pro, female...I needle them all and laugh maniacally.
This might have been in the original design doc, but good Heavies—coupled with support from Medics/Engies—have always been aggro from what I have seen. Just team up with the likes of Burn or Anomaly (among others) as a Heavy and you as a Medic and you'll see what I mean. Vicious, well-timed stuff.
Since this game is constantly evolving, roles have shifted based on how people actually play the classes. For example, Demo and Pyro have basically swapped roles compared to Day One release, IMO. I think Valve has done a good job—via all the unlocks, buffs, and nerfs—to mix up the gameplay and accommodate for this trend. For free, no less.
I am also of the opinion that there aren't necessarily counter classes. All classes, based on the skill level of the player, can counter other classes (admittedly, some better than others). So, what kills a Heavy these days if Spy or Sniper aren't cutting it? I'd say spam, run-by strafes, and two-man+ defenses. Oh, and airblasts off the sides of the new maps.Happiness is a roiling fermenter.

Re: Is Heavy too good now?
There are a lot of rules in any kind of strict competition. The playing field has to be even for 6v6 play. If they did not have rules people would run 3 medics, 1 demo, 1 heavy, and 1 soldier. It would be stupid.
Rules are set to help the game progress and not have constant stalemates. Like how they changed Ice Hockey to have more goal scoring. It isn't "traditional" hockey, but it keeps more fans interested. In this case, less fans and more players.
Honestly I can give you reasons why each weapon is not aloud. Some are more obvious (sandman > uber) than others. Natasha is a scouts worst nightmare, getting med picks, back-caps, or even capping the last point on any 5 cp proves VERY difficult. Say some scrub team plays a pro team somehow in a tournament..... the scrub team may run 2 heavies and a wrangler and never really push out of last point. Playing for a 0-0. This is why certain weapons are banned. To keep the game interesting and fun.
