It could be implemented. The game can already tell the difference between a regular jump and a rocket jump because of the flame particles that are shown on your feet when you RJ. However, since the self-damge reduction nerf to the Soldier, a lot of players jump at close range so they fool the game into thinking it was a rocket jump (jump + self damage). This could be a problem with Jawsh's BB idea because what if I jump + shoot at close range and hurt myself? Is it fair that the enemy takes a lot more damage because the game thinks I'm doing a rocket jump, or is it ok because I still take some self-damage to balance it out. Like I said, major game balance headache.
I actually like Jawsh's idea, maybe something like -15% damage, minicrits when rocket jumping. This will give you acceptable damage on the ground (95 point blank hit vs 112 from normal RL) but a worthwhile boost when rocketjumping (129 for a point blank hit after a rocket jump). This will actually create a nice triangle of sorts between the 3 rocket launchers where the BB counters the RL, the RL counters the DH and the DH counters the BB. And when I say counters, I mean on paper. A good player will win with any weapon.

But the whole thing behind the weapon doesnt show that It would have to do anything with airshots and shooting while in air and all. Its called the "Tankbuster" thus implying more damage and possibly damage vs buildings. Most splash and more damage. But the nerf to it would be prolly slower rockets (since the other unlock was faster rockets) and more splash (since the other unlock was less spash) but also less of a clip. And possible a slower walking speed or somthing since its so freaking huge!

just imagine the power of a medium to long-range reflect of the black box though. it's slower, so easier to reflect, splash is higher, damage is higher, slower fire rate, and all of this coupled with the mini-crit of reflects could be devastating to a tightly packed enemy team.
these stats are really just a pyro's wet dream of a side-grade rocket launcher.
i agree with jawsh's proposed stats
