I like how people confuse the game dying with people in certain community not bothering to play anymore.

It seems to me only TPG TF2 is dying, not the game itself.

TPG is in dire straights, no doubt. But I'm not sure tf2 is thriving that's for sure, although other servers seem to do pretty well in comparison for some reason.

Old clans no longer play at TPG (there used to be 4-5 different ones regularly) consistently or long enough. That chemistry was what brought me to TPG, and it's not here anymore. In a way, the regulars are everything that made TPG great so this is life.

I think Valve really did more to kill this game then they know,especially with the micro-economy; no matter how great an experiment and successful this was, it changed what tf2 was supposed to be about and this has really turned off the majority of old schoolers; who practiced and practiced to increase their skills, only to be presented about a game with imba classes and dozens of goofy weapons as well as a giant portion of useless cosmetic fluffery.

I suppose, but you and I both know that money and trading doesn't buy you skills. They are earned, not bought.

An old school player can still dominate with old weapons with any class. Economy is irrelevant to game play.

God forbid you actually have to learn how to deal with new weapons. No, it's obviously because they are all overpowered.

That's not the point ducky...but whatever. You either understand what I'm saying or not. I think a lot of people turned off of the game is because of the diffusion of weaponry, coming from Quake 3 etc. sort of game background. Regardless, it doesn't really matter.
