    Slot reservation suggestion

I've posted a thread about slot reservation before, and I know about the whole $5 a month thing, but I'm sure it's irritating to anyone in the heat of battle, to suddenly get kicked due to a slot reservation. I know the basic solution is to reserve a slot, but sometimes we, the regs who haven't reserved a slot, are getting kicked for regs who have reserved a slot, while the non-regs somehow stay (who also haven't reserved a slot). So I have a solution. Why not give slot priority to regular players (who haven't reserved) over non-regs, who may not be active members of TPG at all? That way, members won't get kicked for other members, but non-members will. I know it sounds harsh, but active members do want to play for a length of time without getting kicked for other members.

being a reg doesn't mean anything, it doesn't make you any more important than a non reg.

I see where you're going with this, but barring an actual reserve slot, I don't know that it's possible to get there. And even if it were, I don't know that it'd be implemented. Regs are how we generate reservists, but non-reg pubbers are how we generate regs. And while we appreciate the regs (and I don't necessarily agree with Grave's sentiment that regs are no more important than non-regs.. as it's often regs, along with the admins, that help prime and fill the server enough so that the non-regs see it on the list and join it because it has population), we can't do without the non-regs either.

What all that boils down to is.. perhaps 5 a month is not such a high price to guarantee a dedicated spot on the server that you won't be kicked from. And trust me, I understand the frustration of being in the heat of it and suddenly are looking at a "kicked for reserved slot" message.

That's a good point Walker, I actually agree and spoke a little more in absolutes in my last post than I meant. What I was trying to say but couldn't find the words for was that if we are kicking non regs instead of random non reservists then we are increasing the amount of non regs being kicked. I wouldn't want to come back to a server that treated me differently because I hadn't played there before.

Well to tell the truth I found the more I played on the servers the more I was VIP kicked, kinda to motivate the people to buy a reserve slot.

Today's pub hopper is tomorrow's reg, why kick someone who could become a regular, pushing them away from the server when we could kick someone who we know is already going to come back.

    Plus random is fair.

    Re: Slot reservation suggestion

$5 x 12 mo. = $60 per year, or the price of one new PC game per year.

Or 17 cents a day. However you want to slice it.

Honestly, if you appreciate and enjoy TPG's type of gameplay and community, it really is a small price to pay to get a reserved slot.

yeah, like the other guys said its not a good idea because we dont want to alienate people and make TPG for just the people who currently regulate the servers

    Re: Slot reservation suggestion

See if we DID do that, then there would be no incentive to even buy a reserve slot. You would just be like "oh I'm a reg there is no chance I'll get kicked with all these people I don't recognize!"
Whole point of a slot is to guarantee a spot on the server, if they give out half-sees then thats taking away from all the dedicated people who pay good money for their benefits...
