Re: Poor Server Performance and Decline
Ive been siting on this for nearly a week now, hoping someone would give you a reality check, but alas I am disappointed.
Sure it is, your bring up something that clearly you did not put any thought into. Texas = 17.89% of our traffic (google analitics) thats 80% who are not from texas. Just because 8 people out of 7000 say they joined the server because of the word "texas" in the name, does not warrant bringing this topic up yet again.
So let me get this straight, your suggesting, that amongst the two changes you distinguished: name change and server hosting. You say server hosting is not the problem, but the lapse of a word from our name is keeping the servers empty? Well i see quite a handful of servers with texas in their name, and all at this current time are empty

Thats a joke right? Thats supposed to constitute a logical coherent counter argument? Thats boarderline as one of the most doltish, stupid counter arguements I ever had the displesure of hearing. Clearly you couldn't tell me what kind of categorical cooking specialty they specialize at those restraints? Says it on the top of each of those pages "TEXAS ROADHOUSE", "TEXAS TEX-MEX".

If Bank of America was perhaps named Bank of Texas but had clients all over america... Then your pathetic excuse for a counter argument (by which you listed names of RESTAURANTS which specialized in Texas style food, as a justification for us to consider change the name back) might warrant another second of time, but as it stands, it does not.
Welcome to America, home of the depressingly low IQ's given a society of "educated" people. This is also why we have warning labels like "Drowning Hazard to infants" on buckets or "do not submerge in water" on hairdryers and toasters or "do not eat" on tubes of prescription medications.
But furthermore, why shouldn't they think its only for people in texas? Anyone who did not think so would BE DUMB. Its called "language", English for that matter. "Texas TeamPlayers" implies Team-players of Texas, or more so emphasizes Texas which only makes up ... 17.89% (pulled from google analitics) of our traffic, sure thats a lot, but its not majority (50-60%) by far, so it does not warrant having a name specifically emphasizing Texas. If its not, then why the fuck is Texas in their in the first place? Furthermore, what about the other 80% of us?
Like going to a China Food Restaurant and expecting to find stake.
But lets face it. a national bank called "Bank of America" is so much Better than "Bank of Texas".
You know what infuriates me about this? Im not irritated by your accusation but rather at the blithe assumption that I am to dedicate every ounce of my free time dancing to the every whimful needs of TPGers. Well contrary to popular belief, I have a life. I am a triple major AND i attend night school for premed. On top of all that I have to work my ass off to pay my bills, I bet I pay more in medical bills ALONE then most folk earn a YEAR.
And yet Here i am spending my scarce free time fixing the servers so ungrateful punks like you can spit in my face. But its worse than being spit in the face because your trying to weasel out of doing it to my face instead shooting spitballs at the back of my head and claiming you were trying to kill a fly which had landed there. You don't get to throw such insults under the veil that "your just trying to help".
God forbid i actually ever get to step foot in a game right? Because if you cant play than i need to drop what i am doing to come fix your problems. Well surprisingly im all for that, I'm a nice guy. If you want to point your fingers at the highs fine, but point at the ones not pulling their weight. Theres 15 highs, and i damn well know I am pulling my weight. I do not want pat on the back, I do not want thank-yous, hell i could care less that its thankless, but what really gets under my skin is crap like this (ungrateful expectations). You could at least show the respect to recognize the sacrafice and respect it.
So ya, I like BC2 more than TF2, sorry if i prioritize BC2 a little higher than tf2's 16 updates a week crap, so that for the one hour a week i get to play the game I enjoy without any disruptions. Sure highs prioritize their game, its human nature. Its also why I've been pushing like #$%^ to get a dedicated TF2 high in place.
No, you dont get to toss insults and pull the "just saying" crap. I can think of a million ways to word your post that do not involve spitting on my face, it was you who chose not to take the time to think of one.
People not taking the time to put a little thought into their words, yet expect me to take the time to dance to their every whim
We can comeback to this if you want, after you've put actual TIME and THOUGHT into a reply. Took me nearly an hour to type this, even with those sad counter arguments to retort to, because thats how long it takes to provide the courtesy of a coherent counter argument.Last edited by Bunni; 03-29-11 at 05:41 AM.

03-29-11, 01:53 AM #45So here is my question, even though I don't support changing back. We were told that the name Texas was holding us back, even though we climbed to several servers across multiple games, thousands of regulars both on the servers and in the forums, thousands of dollars in ad and donation revenue, and millions of posts with Texas in the name. How much have we improved since the name change? Are we getting new members at a greater rate, more ad revenue or donation revenue, or even more posts/views/visitors than we did prior to the change? It has been a year or so, so where are the droves of people who were afraid of Texas?
