A small suggestion to improve map voting

Right now, the way RTV works and how we choose the next map is pretty damn good. But some things I've noticed is that sometimes the map chosen only wins because it happened to be choice number 1 or 2, usually because when the vote comes up, it's in the middle of switching weapons. Not only this, but we often play the same map over and over, which can be a tad tedious at times.

Because of these 2 scenarios, I'm going to suggest two tweaks to the voting system.

    1. Change the keys to vote with to the F keys, F1, F2, F3, and so on.

    2. Rather than pick the next map, why not pick the next game type? We could decide if we want to play cp or pl or whatever, and the system just picks a map with that gametype.

These are just suggestions, nothing more. Just something to keep it interesting.

All admin mod menu systems (MANI, sourcemod, beetlesmod, LoneStar) use the source calls "slot1,2,3,4..." unless you (and everyone who joins the server) bind the F keys to these commands you cannot change the keys used to vote. (plus some of the F keys are used by default ingame, for example F6 for replays) Ex: The menu looks for "slot1" for option 1 which by default is bound to "1" on your keyboard.

As for the second suggestion, find or write a sourcemod plugin that does that and I'm sure people would be interested.

You can shift them over (and have fewer menu options per page) But as far as I know there is no way to use anything besides the number keys. (unless you bind them yourself)

The problem that I know of when moving them to 4-0 is that 1-3 will not close the menu so if a vote pops up during a fight you can't even hit a button twice to switch weapons then vote, you are stuck on that weapons until you move your hand and hit a voting key.

I have played on a tf2 server that used F1 - F5 for voting, and I did not have to change any of my settings for this to happen, could very well mean that there is a plug-in out there for us to use

Was it recently? Because the built-in valve voting uses the F keys. (Were the menus completely different looking?)

Someone needs to make a plugin that connects Sourcemod to the ingame voting system, since its menus look much better.

This was maybe 2~3 months ago, it looks a little different, the text font looks similar to that of when you receive an invite to do trading (J to accept, K to reject) but the map vote option was still in the normal spot, left side of the screen. When I get home I'll try to do some research on it.
