That's what the group is for, if people don't like it, don't join.
Priming is an event, not an announcement, new server ips make good announcements not people priming.
An announcement that pops up for 4 seconds when you are away from your computer doesn't get people to come play, if you don't like it don't use it.
(As long as it isn't spammed, which I don't do)

the group is for priming. when people are getting pop ups that minimize fullscreen things that they are doing, they leave the group. then theres that many less people to prime.

If you run your games through steam it doesn't minimize them, don't steam messages minimize your game too if you aren't running it through steam?

it doesnt bother me personally, i am usually logged out of steam when im not planning on playing steam games... though its kinda for this reason now that i think about it.

but there have been threads in the past about this exact issue.

Guyver left the group because the amount of annoucements, we are discussing the type. We (guyver included) use the same type in the DoD group (events).

I'm all for keeping the amount to a minimum.

I think events get posted and they stay up for a while, so that when you log into steam you get them afterwards. Announcements only show up if you are logged in. Neither has it ever crashed my games so maybe I can't empathize that point as well. I get double notices all the time but I don't care. Its part of being in a priming group. Regardless I feel that being a teamplayer means putting up with priming messages if it helps pump life back into whatever game. On the flip side I do try to make the messages funny or unusual so that even if it annoys at first, maybe a little smile will soothe tempers.
