Thread: TPG vs. 8U: Euros and Yanks Battle Royale!

North Americans. Europeans. High pings. Fast-paced action. Explosions. More action. More explosions. National anthems, if necessary.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the greatest thing ever to hit anyone ever... AND YOU ARE ALL INVITED!

A match between two highly skilled game communities: TeamPlayerGaming's TF2 crew, and the European challengers of The 8th Underworld!!!!

It is just as it reads: A one-time set of 2 maps, one played on a US-based server, and the other on a Europe-based server.

Maps will be Badwater (played with NA server) and Granary (played with Euro server). The class limits are as follows:

12v12, a number of people any of our regs are comfortable playing with.

• 2 Medics
• 2 Demomen
• 4 Soldiers
• 4 of the other 6 utility classes, with no more than 2 of each.

This is a departure from the traditional Highlander and 6v6 match modes, but it will be more fun than not only exploding a potato in a microwave, but exploding seven of them. That's right, seven of them. It allows for more people to be included, so we can see more classes running around than we've seen before. You'll be going up against some very good players, but remember that it's all in good fun! As a great man once said, "Where else can you get to fight for your country without, actually, you know, fighting?" There will be 12 slots used, but we'll need a few backups, too, so sign up, do not be afraid!

As far as time and scheduling are concerned, this match is scheduled to occur on August 27th, so sign up now! We'll work out choosing players once we see how many people sign up, so DO IT! It'll be at approximately 5:00 PM Central, to account for the time difference of our esteemed European counterparts, who will be playing at approximately 10-11, Greenwich Mean Time, depending on whether they are in England or continental Europe. There will be major ping differences across the Atlantic, and even across North America, so be prepared, we may be able to work out a compromise. Just send me a PM/Steam message and I'll do my best to work out a way that we can bring TPG members from all over!

IMPORTANT: This thread also serves as a signup thread. Remember to look at the class limits first, and then post 3 things:

1. Name in-game.
2. Class you intend to play.
3. One possible off-class, if necessary.

Please limit responses to this thread to the signup information, I will make a second thread for discussion.

The important thing to remember is that this match, though it will be played while following some of the more common competitive conventions (while openly defying others), is open to all players, not just comp/ex-comp. A significant amount of the players here have never played comp (including me), so please don't be shy. You can be a teamplayer without being a member of ESEA, CEVO or any other comp group.

Note: weapons restrictions will be on-par with a competitive setup (whether ESEA or ESL will be announced shortly.)
