TF2 Blog: Surprise Manniversary Update and Sale

A couple days ago we mentioned a "major project" we were working on that we promised to keep you updated on in the weeks and months ahead. Well, here's an update: It's done! Suck it, Valve Time.

That's right, folks. The Steam Workshop is live! What is it? An improved submission hub for community-created content that makes it easy for you to upload entries, check on their status and get feedback from us at Valve. Also, the TF community will be able to look at, comment on, and rate all item submissions in a single place.

I'd rather deal with hats than with another demo sword, uber type, man-wrangling argleplat or whatever the combined minds of the TF2 community can't put together...

There's a ton of weapons that need nerfs/buffs/ etc, and I'd rather Valve focus on those for now before adding more shit for us to figure out how to use or counter.

Besides, they're actually trying to optimize the game with lods and other nice features, so far this is honestly better than the Uber Update.

Always a good reason for updates. At this point, I'm up for pretty much anything they want to try. I mean, I've put up with them this long... But hey! did I see that gullywash got officially added

Added "tf_allow_taunt_switch". Set to 0 for disallowed (default behavior), 1 for old bug behavior, or 2 to allow weapon switching any time during the taunt.

I demand tf_allow_taunt_switch 1 on the TPG server NAO!

Also: Pyro got reserve shooter (boo), Widowmaker costs 30 metal (I'm gonna abuse the shit out of this).
