HL2 original engine support vs Orangebox engine support
Valve updated the source engine for the orangebox (and refers to the update as the 'orangebox' version).
The OB version has API changes from the original engine, which means when building a mod, you have to target one or the other, or provide extra hacks to get both to work (but still do two builds, one for each version).
Valve has stated they are going to port CS:S from the original engine to OB. I don't know about the status of DODS.
Here's the plan unless people obejct: We only support OB for now. If by the time our mod is a useable product CSS or DODS still haven't been ported over to OB, then we'll add original engine support into our mod. Hopefully we can avoid original engine support if the CSS and DODS devs get their act together.

Re: HL2 original engine support vs Orangebox engine support
Do we know a time frame for their porting to the OB engine? Really, in either case, I don't have a problem with doing the classic engine support via a module, it makes sense but we should definitely be focusing on the big games out the gate.

if CSS is going to go OB (abnd I'd assume DoD will as well), then fine. Otherwise, just like mani, we'll have to have 2 versions. One for CSS/DoD, and one for TF2.
