I can work on it when I get home late tonight. I will try to install it on the DOD Main server, but I also have a server on a local box at my house that I use for lan parties... it just needs the latest update. If I run into problems with the pub server, I can try to config it on my local box rathern than keeping the pub down.

Re: dod orangebox?
I will grab some of the new testers and start testing everything we can think of on the DoD LoneStar Test server.
If it breaks somewhere we'll find it.
Edit: Hmmm... I should wait for confirmation that the DoD test server is running 1.1.1 before doing all the work

Re: dod orangebox?
The test server is updated with the new version of DoD, but I haven't stuck LS on it yet. I probably will be able to in the next hour or two. I'll post here when it has LS

Re: dod orangebox?
Ok test server has lonestar on it..... but I'm not sure if the server itself is configured correctly anymore due to the update.
The update wasn't a normal update, it essentially installed a new dedicated sever; that's how significant this update is.
DoD is normally installed at
<serverpath>\dod
However the update installed a new copy of dod at
<serverpath>\orangebox\dod
This makes sense because all orangebox based games (like Tf2) go in that folder, but because it wasn't overwriting files and instead made a new server
1) None of the old configs were copied over, I manually copied over server.cfg hoping it was the only config that needed copying
2) I don't know if TCAdmin is starting up the server located at "<serverpath>\dod" or "<serverpath>\orangebox\dod". I don't see a TCAdmin option for checking to see what the executable path is, and how to change it if it's wrong....
I don't have DoD yet, so I can't check to see if it's working (It is running now according to TCAdmin). Arreo can you hop in and see (1) which server is TCadmin running, (2) do the game settings look correct or are their more .cfgs to copy over (3) is lonestar 1.1.1 loaded on it (console command "meta list" will tell you) and (4) if lonestar is loaded, is it working?

Re: dod orangebox?
It's supposed to be running but I can't see any server at this IP: 67.228.57.114:27016
Edit: Yeah, I cannot see or connect to the server...
Edit2: even using the 'connect 67.228.57.114:27016' console command doesn't work, it just says "Connection failed after 4 retrys"
Edit 3: I can ping 67.228.57.114 from the command prompt, so the server is running, it is something in the DoD install that is making it not respond to connections from the HL2 engine.
My educated guess is that something got messed up in the install of the new DoD patch. Maybe our server providers update process screwing us again, like they did with COD4?
Edit 5: This is the gameinfo.txt file from the /orangebox/dod directory. I belive this is where you set what exe path you want the server to run. The issue here is there is also a gameinfo.txt file in the /dod/ directory that is exactly the same.
Code:"GameInfo" { game "Day of Defeat Source" title "[DAY-OV-DEFEAT]" title2 "source" type multiplayer_only nomodels 1 nohimodel 1 nocrosshair 1 advcrosshair 1 hidden_maps { //"test_speakers" 1 //"test_hardware" 1 } FileSystem { SteamAppId 300 // This will mount all the GCFs we need (300=DoD, 220=HL2). ToolsAppId 211 // Tools will load this (ie: source SDK caches) to get things like materials\debug, materials\editor, etc. // // The code that loads this file automatically does a few things here: // // 1. For each "Game" search path, it adds a "GameBin" path, in <dir>\bin // 2. For each "Game" search path, it adds another "Game" path in front of it with _<langage> at the end. // For example: c:\hl2\cstrike on a french machine would get a c:\hl2\cstrike_french path added to it. // 3. For the first "Game" search path, it adds a search path called "MOD". // 4. For the first "Game" search path, it adds a search path called "DEFAULT_WRITE_PATH". // // // Search paths are relative to the base directory, which is where hl2.exe is found. // // |gameinfo_path| points at the directory where gameinfo.txt is. // We always want to mount that directory relative to gameinfo.txt, so // people can mount stuff in c:\mymod, and the main game resources are in // someplace like c:\program files\valve\steam\steamapps\<username>\half-life 2. // SearchPaths { Game |gameinfo_path|. Game dod Game |all_source_engine_paths|hl2 } } }
Edit 6: Alright, I need someone with more expertise to muck with this. I suspect if the /dod/ install instance was removed the server might run but I don't want to make that drastic a change without getting a second opinion.

Re: dod orangebox?
I believe TCAdmin is simply running the wrong instance of DoD.
I'ts running the old DoD, because it doesn't realize there is a new instance of that server it should be running instead.
FYI gameinfo.txt exists in the base directory of every mod; it simply tells the game engine what dll to load for that mod (among other things). So that part of it should be fine.
