Thread: Banned for Alt-Tabbing

Hi, I was just banned from the CS:S server, it was around 6:20, April 10th, 2012, and the handle I usually play under, and was playing under is "no dont". My steamID is STEAM_0:0:19627912.

I'll answer each of the questions necessary to address this below:

#1. Why do you think you got banned?
I was playing from my work computer (my office is in my home) and alt-tabbing to finish work in between deaths. I was kicked a few times, and rejoined and resumed playing. Then I played through an entire map without alt-tabbing. After that map, a couple of rounds in, I alt-tabbed, and then shortly reopened CS to find that I had been banned. I'm assuming it was because I wasn't technically following the call, given that I my character would be sitting at spawn.

#2. What server were you on? What admin do you believe banned you? What admins were there playing?

I was playing on the main CS:S server, ip address was 184.173.90.91:27015. I figure that $likathanky*ATX-PLEX* was the admin, given that he was doing the calling in a previous map, and when people wouldn't follow the call, an admin would mention it using admintalk. His steamID is

STEAM_0:1:7436403.

It also could have been manno, as I think he was playing when I was playing.

#3. Why should you be unbanned?
I'm always a very helpful and team conscious player, I pretty much exclusively play on these servers, have donated (I say this because it shows my appreciation of the site, not that I should be unbanned because I "paid" anyone, which would be ridiculous) and I follow the call when I can hear it. I made the mistake of playing at work, and probably wasn't aware of any warnings besides getting kicked, as I had alt-tabbed from the game. Next time I'll quit while working so that I don't hurt the current game by disappearing every other round.

#4. A written statement that you will refrain from doing anything that will get you banned again.
I hereby state that I will refrain from doing anything else to get me banned. Sorry.

so yeah, I'm pretty sure this is what I did wrong, if it's more than that let me know. I really like the servers, since I can't really find this kind of environment anywhere else, and I like all the regulars I can remember. So if I was consistently being a hindrance this whole time or something, sorry.
