ARMA 3 Ban Appeal - zDk

Hello again, I was banned awhile back and was unbanned. After that I didn't play Arma 3 much anymore as I've been busy with school and work.

I tried logging in the other day and it said I was banned again, to be completely honest, I do not even remember the last time I played in the server because it is always full when I join. I'm not sure where I got banned or how but if the banning admin could post here that would really help me out.

I put a link to your last unban request above. I am sure you remember that the last time you were banned was on suspicion of hacking. We could not put our finger on what was going on. Some admin though player position hack, some thought aim bot and some though no recoil. Either way we are a fair group and since there was no evidence to support my ban your ban was lifted. You played a few times after that but you are right, it has been a while. You did try to connect about a week ago though and should have received a message with your kick.

Your current ban is for a no recoil script which now fits so perfectly with what I witnessed you doing on our server. This time it was detected on your local when you tried to connect to our server. We always police the logs and when we saw that you had been kicked for it you were added back to the ban list. Care to address that?

I honestly do not even remember the exact date I was trying to connect to the server, I don't even remember getting in nor playing a week ago to be honest.

I don't know how to address it, if it's on your end and it says I have a script then who am I to argue with that? I don't script nor do I even know how to code for scripts. I'm just curious as to how it picks up 'my script' now if it didn't before?

We did not have the cheat detection before. It was recently added. The program is set up to only detect specific things and yours was specific. If it was not present it would not have flagged it. So we all have what we witnessed and then the first time you connect to our server after we implemented anti cheat efforts you were flagged.

Hi zDk. I'm the one who implemented the anti-hack. The reason for your ban is because BigHub found this entry in the server logs :

ANTI-HACK 0.6.7: zDk (76561198xxxxxxxxx) was kicked for 'no recoil' with the value 'null'

The "null" value is normal, as the no recoil detection was not recording a specific value at the time. But, if this line shows up, it means the anti-hack has found a difference between the default recoil coefficient and the one associated with your player. The only way a recoil coefficient can change is by doing a script call or editing the value in the memory. The chance of false positives is extremely low, not to say impossible.

According to the version number, this happened between May 29 and June 11. Since it picked up your player ID at the time of the detection, it definitely means you were connected to the server with your current profile. Whether you can script or not, anybody can pick up pre-made stuff on hacksites without any coding knowledge.

That said, we'll see how the vote goes. Personally, I would give you one very last chance because I don't know much from the previous investigation, but not all the admins might be of my opinion.
