Thread: Being kicked/baned for anoncing hacker in open chat

I was the banning admin. Thanks for posting in a professional manner - I realize that you may be confused as to why you were banned, so let me just point out a few things.

Firstly, here is a record of the chat logs from several days ago:

This was brought up in a discussion among the other admins at the time, and it was decided that, although it was disrespectful and overreacting, no further action was necessary at that point in time. However, this particular example was neither the first nor the last time that others on the server have noticed an almost continual stream of accusations of hacking or cheating. In fact, last month you mentioned in the chat that I was using an aimbot, shortly after I killed you with the Ganz. I can also tell you that quite a few other people you&#39;ve accused of hacking are well-known regulars on the server, and are just plain good at the game.

Now, this behavior in and of itself is not a bannable offense by any means - a great many players accuse one another of hacking on the server, and engage in other (often very colorful) trash talk, which is perfectly acceptable. However, the previous bolded statement, and this one from today:

both indicate accusations that cross the line from friendly banter to one in a series of serious abuse claims, and most importantly, show a complete lack of respect for all of the administrators who put their time and effort in to this game. The ban was not for accusations of cheating - that would be censorship, something that is not condoned or practiced on any of TTP&#39;s servers. Rather, it was carried out for repeated examples of direct disrespect towards the admins and their efforts to keep the server running smoothly. Does that make sense?

Yes, those are the stats that are required. Thanks again for your response - in the future, if you have any concerns regarding players that you think are hacking or exploiting, take as many screenshots as you can (xfire works well for this) and post them, along with your conerns, in the forums. You can of course always try to attract the attention of an admin in-game, and someone will generally respond as best they can. That said, keep your requests short, simple and to the point - if nobody responds right away, it&#39;s because people are busy or didn&#39;t see the message. Feel free to repeat it a few times, but making it an issue with the admins and saying that they aren&#39;t doing their job will get you in to more trouble. Most people will respond much better to requests for help when they aren&#39;t accompanied with comments like those previously mentioned.

The ban was only for two hours, so you should be able to reconnect as of... now, actually. Keep in mind that this will still put you on a short list of players who have been banned in the past, and you will need to be on your best behavior. Again, thank you for addressing this properly, and remember to keep your temper in line. Everyone on the server wants all of the hackers gone as much as you do.

Also, since you&#39;re here, please feel free to read around the forums, and see what the people here have to offer. There&#39;s an awful lot of information around, and you&#39;ll find that people are more than willing to share it.

Saying bullshit like that has nothing to do with hackers, and everything to do with your hate of admins, server authority, and respect.

You need to grow the fuck up, learn some patience, and feel lucky iron has more tolerance for your lack of teamplay fundamentals than I do.

It doesn&#39;t matter about the hacker......if we have players saying "fuck this, the admins won&#39;t do crap, fuck this server"...you are 100X more important to remove from play than any hacking suspect.

Learn that, or you won&#39;t survive at TTP.
