Humiliating ban

#1. Why do you think you got banned?

I was staying in or near the t spawn area in de_port.

#2. What server were you on? What admin do you believe banned you? What admins were there playing?

I was on the Texas team players css (vanilla) server, who banned me? I'm going to assume |<C2C>| Masterblaster because he was the one who was the most angry/(disappointed?) at/with me.

    Other possible people:

    tCz. Hocus Pocus
    ?wmc? Hybridkilla

    My steam ID: STEAM_0:1:12752949
    my css stats: http://67.19.3.130/css_stats/player....51c949f1142441

sorry if I did any of that wrong I'm new to this.

#3. Why should you be unbanned?

I could give a load of bs and grovel, or I could give my honest opinion, I choose honest.

Yes, I was in, and near the T spawn almost all of the times I was called out on it, however after the admin told me and many..a few other players to move out of spawn. Masterblaster was still going on about it.

This is because I was still in and around spawn, but I was not spawn camping as many people made me out to be, here is my case:

There's a broken down white van in the northeast corner of the the terrorist spawn. When you jump on top of it, you have a view of a large white silo in bombsite A which overlooks the far side of bombsite B (the boat at the west side of the map) and the area near it.

What I was doing was sitting on that van for about 15-20 seconds trying to shoot people who tried to climb up onto the top of the silo, effectively stopping them from picking of teammates.

On the other hand, I can't deny that even 10 seconds is too long to be waiting in spawn in counter-strike. I guess the reason that I didn't stop doing it when I was asked was because I wasn't thinking of that, and because I saw more people trying to get up in an effort to kill me.

P.S. If by chance I was banned for wallhacking or aimbot usage, you can see and shoot through the wire mesh at the edge of t spawn

"We're not asking for an apology"-Banned rules

I feel the need to give one anyways.

I'm sorry for not immediately listening to the admin when told to get my ass in gear and get out of spawn. As well, my apologies to my team, who I left for dead when I decided I was going to sit my ass in spawn to watch a specific spot.

In the future, I can't say I won't ever do that again, that would be lying. However I won't be doing that anymore without first telling, then making sure that it's okay with my team. If I'm told by a player who disagrees with what I'm doing, I'll address him rather than ignore him, if the admin tells me, or the group of players I'm with to get moving, I won't address him, I'll move, fast to the objective whatever it may be.

    -Thanks for your time, Check

Thanks for posting in proper format, Checkmate. I was not the banning admin, but I was there to see a lot of what went down.

You weren't the only one that received a ban tonight for not following the call, instead choosing to go your own way without communicating with your team, lonewolfing it and leaving your team out to dry. When we call boat, we damn well better see everyone rushing their asses off, making proper use of smokes and flashes(especially when you are a regular here, a resident clan member no less), and making sure that the bomb is planted.

And that's exactly what needs to happen. If you believe you would be of greater service by staying and covering the flank because the CTs are pushing too hard through the T spawn, then you MUST communicate with your team that you are doing so, AND they must agree. Every player has their place on the team, and if it's a very close match like it was tonight, then we need everyone to be on the same page when we are doing rushes. Even if it is just 1 player, he/she could be all the difference in whether or not we get the objective done(and therefore get rewarded with more money, thereby enabling us to afford the smokes, flashes, armor, and weapons we need to get the job done again in the next round).

I think bigdog said it best:

Being a resident clan member, you should know the rules better than the other nonteamplaying chumps that were banned tonight for the same thing. Talking back to the admin when you KNOW that you are in the wrong will not be tolerated. Hence, you were given a 1-hour ban to cool your head, enabling you to come to the forums to get this all straightened out.

I will commend you for keeping a cool head, understanding that you were in the wrong, and making a post reflecting these things. You should be able to reconnect after the hour is up. If there is a next time, however, the punishment will not be nearly as lenient as it was tonight.

    Re: Humiliating ban

Check, I was not your banning admin

Appreciate the honesty, if only all the banned did the same.

I was there as a witness. I can see why you do what you were doing; to stop a potential enemy from getting on silos and causing problems if it were a silo rush. The only thing that bothered me was that you were staying in your spawn long enough so that CTs could fully rotate through silos (during a boat rush) and would end up getting in a firefight with you in your spawn or your entire team would be dead trying to plant the bomb and you'd be the only one alive. I don't need to lecture though, it seems like you have got a good mindset. Look forward to seeing you in game. Once more, appreciate the honesty

    Re: Humiliating ban

As you can tell, Checkmate, there were several admins on, and we all agreed with your ban at the time. I did not pull the trigger, but I was the one talking to you in Godchat. I gave you several warnings, but in the end it's better to do the discussion here, rather than on the server.

There is a big long thread you can search for about the ethics/limits of spawn camping on this specific map. Personally, I have two issues with your tactic:

Firstly, your "15-20 seconds" was often longer than that, and I specifically recall calling you out because you were the only T left (at least twice).

Second, and by far more important, is this. You watched our flank every single round. If you spawn in the back of the rush, Then you can watch the rear. However, if you spawn in the front, you need to be the first man around the corner, smoking and flashing the boat. If you don't, you effectively sell out your entire team, because they are going to die, and it will be your fault. I watched you one round. You were the second man in line, and you walked over to look through the fence. T's lost that round, shockingly enough.

Protecting the flank is necessary on any map, but you will not be that guy every round. Just as you will not be the scout on Dust_2 every round, or the second man through DD on Aztec. If I had seen you at the front of just one rush, I would have pleaded your case to the other admins, and we wouldn't be here.

I know you understand what I'm saying, I want to see it happen.

Nope, I wasn't your banning admin but you had it comming you were playing by yourself do what you want when you want and how you want. And Aztec too? awping when its 17-8 and your on the Ct side. Dont use your residence for cover cause you see it doesn't work. We expect more from locals and your spawn camping was ill timed, you even let the bomb get defused twice. So let this be a lesson to you that we're all vunerable, no hard feelings see you in game.

Sounds like fun, I noticed your platform says PC & XBox, is this going to be an XBox or PC thing? I'll join if it's PC, should have time after work.
