Thread: No Heads Up

I just got banned today, without warning or explanation.

It was 10:10pm MST. . .and I think it had to do with the ol' Phalanx issues. I'm not a part of that, and I certainly wasn't wearing the tag. Is it possible to have this fixed?

So here's the skinny: I submitted my withdrawal from Phalanx weeks ago because I didn't have the time or the desire to be involved in heavy clan shit. Politics isn't what I'm in for, it's play that I want. Dome, in a way, refused it, said I could play when I want and participate as much as I care to. I'm not active, but I'm not persona non-grata. And I'm free to wear the colors.

It seemed as though the same was more-or-less true on the Texas TeamPlayers' servers, minus the tag.

The rift between Texas TeamPlayers and Phalanx is unfortunate, and anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool. Both communities feel it, and both are worse for it. I'm not saying the decision was unjust, in fact, I support it; Phalanx was getting ahead of itself. All I want is to play Day of Defeat, and sometimes Red Orchestra. To that ends, I like playing with regulars, no matter who they are or where they play. It's a shame that my regulars can no longer play with each other.

These guys I know for a long time. I've known JubJub since I was with MC going back eight years. I knew him and his wife Jessica separately, where they met playing Counter-Strike. (Stranger has happened.) He's got freaking kids now.

All I give two shits about is playing a game and saying "Heya" to dudes I couldn't pick out of a line-up. Not only is that harmless, but I think it's the backbone of it all. Call it community or netdom or Web 2.0 or just video games, there's something tangible that makes us feel strong enough about it to get all bent out of shape over hurt feelings and trespass.

So there you have it. I'm just a guy who wants to shoot Nazis. Maybe even connect with some people, as much as you can, I suppose.

I would like to be un-banned, if anything, so I can say "Heya," to you.

Thanks for the post and the clarification. There is a 3 day vote up for your unbanning process. The 15 or so admins will vote and we will let you know as soon as it is done.

Because I bailed on them to start writing. I got a job as a hardware reviewer, and didn't have the time to play so much, let alone practice and compete. The last time I posted was three weeks ago. . .

I didn't know I posted to any private forum, just that I posted to the off topic place--hell, it's called "Open Discussion"; I wanted to show off my first published article.

And for what it's worth, I had no idea that Phalanx people got banned. There is nothing about it on the PX page, and I had to ask you what happened. Seriously, I had _no clue_ what was going on. And I wasn't wearing a tag, to boot, I got told to remove it, what, a couple of weeks back, and did. That's the first I found out that something changed. I am not kiddin--no clue.

Why would I want to play on TTP and not my clan's server? I dunno, stomping grounds, I guess. Better pings, more traffic, more familiar "faces". . .I don't know a quarter of the new PX people. Again, I just want to run and jump and climb trees, so to speak. I don't care about the BS, but if it follows me around I suppose there's nothing I can do about it.

Except be honest with my intentions. I'm not a freaking spy, who the hell cares what the other guys are up to, I just like DoD, and I really hate the idea of being banned. Not kicking ass with whomever I've grown accustomed to kick ass with. Why would anyone want to miss out on that?
