Thread: Banned - WHY??

Today, I tried to join TEXAS TEAM PLAYERS server (was on Karkand map - 72.232.220.90). It let me join for a few seconds, then I got BANNED, before I could even fire a shot. It showed the reason as "Previously Banned".

I used to play on this server almost every night. I NEVER recall being banned.

#1. Why do you think you got banned?
I have no idea why. I don't hack, I don't cheat, I don't fight over or stand in front of Aircraft or Vehicles to force teamkills or anything else I shouldn't do. Like anybody, I have an occasional accidental team kill, but not that many. I always forgive teamkillers, as long as it appears to be accidental. I don't do anything to disrupt play. Just for the record, I'm not a young kid who does a lot of the above mentioned BS.

I've never had a hassle with anybody on Texas Team Players servers, admin or player.

Being from Texas, TTP was always one of my favorite servers to play on...also, it used to be good hard action, without the BS you find on so many servers.

#2. What server were you on? What admin do you believe banned you? What admins were there playing?
72.232.220.90. I have no way of knowing what admin banned me or which ones were playing, because it referred to a "previous ban".

I have two main BF screen names, "TEXASFLASH" and "_-G0TCHA-Again-_". Tried to log in with "_-G0TCHA-Again-_" and got the "previously banned" message. (Since it took about 30-45 seconds after I joined the server, it seemed to be manually done, not a PB message.) I then logged off and back on using the "TEXASFLASH" persona and got a PB Message saying "You nave been BANNED from this server by server admin". It's pretty clear that it was manual the first time and then added to the banned list before I tried to join again. I never even fired a shot the first time, so I know there was nothing I did today.

Again, I have no idea when the "previous" ban happened or why. I wasn't able to located any screenshots or stats on your site.

I'm not trying to raise hell or cause trouble, I just need to know why I was banned.

#3. Why should you be unbanned?
Because I did nothing wrong that I am aware of.

#4. A written statement that you will refrain from doing anything that will get you banned again.
It would be rather hard to write a statement saying I won't do whatever it was I did, since no one has let me know why. I guess the best I can do is say I will continue to play by the rules and continuing my practice of not acting like an asshole.

If someone will show me the screenshots or the logs or explain to me what I supposedly did, I will check it out and decide if it is true or if this is a "ban for personal gain" by an admin and we'll go from there. There are lots of servers whose admins ban people, simply because they're getting their asses kicked. I hope TTP hasn't changed and dropped to that level.

Again, I'm not some smart-ass kid who tries to disrupt play, disrespect others and I don't hack or cheat. I usually don't advertise the fact, but I'm 60 years old.

I occasionally take a lot of flak because my Kill/Death ration is sometimes pretty good, but that's only because I'm smart enough to duck, hide or run when I need to and to get close enough to hit before I start shooting. I play the game pretty much like I did in Vietnam....just try to stay alive and take out as many of the enemy as I can.

From past experience with TTP, you had mostly pretty good action and admins who were fair and did their job. Don't know what has changed, but I can assure you that I did nothing that warrented a permanent ban.

Please review this with the admin who did this. I'll wait and see what you decide, then we'll go from there.
