Thread: Sorrow banned.... 3rd times a charm.

#1. Why do you think you got banned?
I believe I was banned for either played on a server that TTP doesn't like, or posting on their forums. I'm not sure, however I have read your Rules and Policies and have not broken any rules posted there. http://www.texasteamplayers.com/index.php?topic=442.0 <~~ For clarity.


P.S. I'm confused about the situation regarding "United Team Gamers"? I think that's the name.. I simply joined the server because I clicked "Join Game" from the Friends List. However, no where in your rules does it say that a player can be banned for playing on a certain server. Also, there is no need or reason to ban a player for playing with others that are unliked or unwanted by TTP. I have always abided by every TTP rule set in place. Yet, this is the third time I've had to fill out an "Unban Request".

#2. What server were you on? What admin do you believe banned you? What admins were there playing?
Well, I was banned from all the CS:S Servers.. I wasn't currently played when I was banned. Thus this is part of the problem. Which means I was banned for something that occurred outside of the game? This is another area which does not fit.

#3. Why should you be unbanned?
I should be unbanned because I enjoy playing on your servers and have maintained an outstanding record. Also, I did nothing against your rules that I have read thoroughly.

#4. A written statement that you will refrain from doing anything that will get you banned again.
I have always and will always follow the rules posted. I have always played the game as honorably and as respectably as intended and insisted upon.

#5. Failure to address all of the above questions clearly will result in your post being locked and/or your unban request to go unprocessed. If you don't care, we don't care.

#6. If your ban is sustained (upheld by the voting admins), you will have to wait at least 30 days before any additional request to be "unbanned" can be accepted.

Thats what you posted on UTG's forums... or that's what is says after you edited it (Last edited by SorroW on 20 Jul 2009 23:58, edited 1 time in total).

What it said before, and let me paraphrase, was:

"I heard what happened with TTP and I decided to be a rebel with you guys. Atlas told me to change my name to something else to avoid TTP knowing who I am. I'm thinking of one of the following names:
blah
blah
blah
blah"

Now, I am paraphrasing so I might not have it exactly right, but I very clearly remember the "I decided to be a rebel with you guys"

So... you knew what the stakes were and you decided to go to UTG. Why on earth should TTP let you back in?

Well first off, there is no infraction with "Association" in your rules and policies..

And second off, why would I be held accountable for anything said outside of a game and/or your forums? What if I was arrested for killing someone? Would that be held against me in your server?

My point: I have not broken any rules. I have not caused any problems in your game servers or on your forums. I have always abided by the rules. Regardless of what I might have said elsewhere. Nothing was said to disrepute your community.

All in all, it seems like TTP decided to make a new rule. However, had this rule been posted, I would have complied.. You can't hold me accountable for something I wasn't informed of.

As unfair as you might think it is... yes we can.

You were banned for knowingly associating with UTG. You knew the consequences and knew that you were making a choice.

So now it comes down to it, who are you going to choose? Your former clan mates? Or TTP?

Especially since you were playing on their server.... hmmm about an hour ago?

However, I do not understand why I cannot play on all servers. Is it because of personal drama? Why should I be a pawn in something that is bigger than my presence in either server? I just want to play the game. And both servers demonstrate "team play". When I was banned from TTP, of course I went there.. I wanted to play the game I paid for. When the TTP servers are full, am I suppose to just wait for a spot because the TTP community feels threatened by UTG? Either way, I'm not representing either server.. I'm not displaying my skill or lack of in association with either server. When both of your servers are full, I should have the freedom to play anywhere I please without repercussion. Same as they will not ban me for playing on TTP regardless of the number of people there. I don't understand why you feel threatened that I play(ed) there.

You joined UTG's server to obtain your steam ID?

Yes... to get my Steam ID I have to join a server and type "status" in console.. Since I am banned from TTP, I cannot use that server. And UTG is the only other server I have on my favorites. I do not understand the problem.... Forgive my ignorance..

So it took you an hour and three minutes to figure out how to type 'status' in the console? Oh and you managed to get 52 kills while you were typing?

Okay.. I wasn't lying. Of course, I played earlier on the server... It was longer than an hour ago, though. However, I was banned from TTP, what does the TTP community expect me to do? Just sit here and do nothing while I wait? Regardless of my activity, I have filled out the form as requested, and you have yet to point out any flaws in the form. I do not understand the reason for my ban, and I have yet to be informed of the issue. I'm not being rude and do not intend to come across as negative. I am just trying to state my case that I have done nothing wrong.
