Thread: Banned--need answers

I was playing in the CS:S Top5 server(72.233.44.146:27017) when I was suddenly "kicked and banned". There was no warning prior to the disconnect, and considering I know I wasn't hacking, being a nuisance, or doing anything else that could be considered "ban-worthy", I am very confused why this happened.

I met and talked to a TTP rep at QuakeCon and he referenced me to yalls website and servers. I was excited to get involved in some legit teamplaying servers with good players and "fair" admins.

The only person on at the time that I think is an admin was "BIGTEX", or something like that.

Please let me know my mistake, or figure out yalls, so things can be fixed. :9

Lege, can you at least provide a rough date and time? Maybe a map you were on? The banning admin will be by to address this with you directly, but for other admins that were not present, they would not have any idea of where to begin looking for the logs with the information provided.

I was actually there when u got kicked and banned.. u were not following the call and i did see the admin telling u a couple of times to follow the call.. third time was a kick and ban. Glad to see u here on the forums though, tells us that u want to be part of TTP and i think u deserve a second chance. Follow the call though Cheesy there are rules on the server and breaking them is not taken lightly.

Maybe he did warn me...I was talking to a couple friends during the match and not giving 100% of my attention. I will say that I was aware of the calls being made, and I understand the concept behind yalls policy of teamwork. But I wasn't running off on my own just to be a twerp. My personal opinion, whether ignorant or not, is that flanks are important to guard. Considering majority of the team went one way, I decided to not only be a distraction the opposite direction, but to also make sure the opposing team did not come shoot all of us in the back.

I realize that more focus on the game and better communication with my team probably would have prevented this...maybe that is the solution.

You were just connected to inferno.

Ya. I figured since it allowed me in the server, then the ban had been lifted. Apparently not, and im banned again... :9

I have a question.
In your post you said you were banned from the top5 server on pira.
When did this ban take place. Because the server you were just on was the Top5 server.

Your first could have just been a temp ban and that does not need to be resolved in the forums.

Hey Lege! Thanks for connecting to our servers and giving our community a shot. I was one of the reps at quakecon, so I am pleased to see you in our forums. We do enforce teamplay, after all that is the lifeblood of our community and our mission. You are right, communication is the key. Had you let your team know that you are watching the flank then there wouldn't have been a problem, HOWEVER do not let that be your gameplay style 24/7. I say this because you may be one of the lead guys in a rush and the team will need you on the front lines. We frown upon players that watch flanks all the time and basically "collect trash" as many regulars call it. We believe in selflessness, communication, and completing objectives like badasses :)

Yes, I was banned from Top5. Maybe it was a temp ban.
