Thread: Banned for requesting Admin for tk help

Hey, I was just banned for excessive teamkilling -- but I did not teamkill. I was on the deck of the carrier when another player teamkilled me for a helo (didi of tvp squad or something liek that). I repeatedly requested an Admin's help. The guy who teamkilled me even mocked me that no one admin was on. Then I just gave up and said "I guess there are no admins here.....time for tk" meaning i guess this is the time for these fools to tk and get away with it. Obviously people who know me and as an admin for another server I don't teamkill. Had the admin said something instead of just banning me, then I would have explained that the frustration of repeatedly getting teamkilled for helo/jets but no admin ever responds to requests. Kinda surprising that an admin responds to my statement instead of introducing himself, requesting clarification, asking about the tk against me and my response.

I was going to even apply for an admin position since I see all this crap going on: redlining, tk, racist talk. I figured that there were not enough admins. But this is odd that I get banned when the teamkiller gets away with teamkilling and mocking.

Anyway, I'm requesting an unban. If the banning admin has any questions, he can ask me. I wish he would have said anything during the game when I requested his help. And wished he had made a statement about how it is "time for teamkillers" (not time for me to tk).

Did you ask for admin assistance when you were TK'd? Why would you say, "Time to TK"? If you were a former admin, and someone said that, how would that look to you?

An absolutely fair question. As an admin at the FCW servers I would always respond to Admin requests. As I said previously, I requested Admin assistance -- about 6 times in the period of about 1.5 minutes, knowing that an admin may be engaged in fighting ( SWAT Danofearth can confirm this as i was in the same squad). I had two other people respond to me, but they were not admins. Also, earlier in the game I witnessed a squad leader redlining another player in the attack helo. I called out a minimum of 8 times, had a conversation with <HRD> Tomato24 on the opponent side also, as we were both trying to get an Admin's attention--no response.

Certainly my wording was incorrect, but as you see I am honestly portraying my actions and words, not covering up. Also, as an admin on fcw, I make a point of defusing situations, making sure to get both sides of the story if there was any doubt what was going on. I understood the frustration of players who were teamkilled repeatedly and then mocked by that tker. Needless to say, I've had many players blow up and say plenty of offensive things when the response was slow, but in the end, an Admin should behave like a judge -- hearing out both sides, making a decision and informing the players of that decision. This takes less than a minute.

I take responsibility for my comments, but wish that the admin had questioned my intentions not my words -- and certainly I would have explained that it was not my intent to go on a TK spree, only to express that it seems that these habitual teamkillers were getting away with, well, murder.

In this instance, I let my frustrations get a hold of me. However, I did not intentionally teamkill anyone nor did I have any plans for retaliation. In fact, it was just to get an admin's attention, and indeed it did.

Beyond that, while some admins may not know me, I know most of the players here as they used to come to FCW. They can vouch for my integrity and fairplay -- and my earnestness that I will not speak out of turn as I did this time on TTP BF2.

And for that I humbly request an unban......

As you know, TTP is not FCW. While we can debate the merits of one server practice over another until the end of time, the fact is, we do it differently. Admins are not going to respond immediately to player concerns because they are busy changing sides, and speccing the player you are accusing of impropriety. If we announce to the server the person is being watched, then they start to behave themselves. In this case, your constant insistence to the admins meant he cleaned up his act before we could spec him properly. In short, you scared him off.

However, rest assured that the admins are always watching. But as I'm sure you can relate, we cannot simply take the word of one player over another. You can imagine the fallout that would occur should an admin ban or kick players solely on the word of another. Savvy players may abuse that, making it more difficult to police the server efficiently.

While we know that it sucks to be TK'd. Only the admins have the power to deal with the problem in the right way. Retaliatory TK's, or the inference that you will carry them out, will not end well, as you're finding out now. It is perhaps an unfortunate reality that having had the ability to deal with problem players on your server, then being powerless on another makes for some very irritating circumstance. I understand this. But in the future, make your case without becoming part of the problem.

I will put up a vote in the admin forums petitioning for your unban. This may take up to three days, or could end much sooner depending on the vote. Please review this topic periodically as it will be used to update you on your status.
