Thread: Surprise Ban

1. Your server is one of the few I have in my "favorites" list. This morning my brother comes to me and tells me that he was playing my game and got a strange message and then couldn't play anymore. I have been kicked recently while I figure out why my PB isn't updating, but turns out this was a ban. He told me it was for team killing.

2. He was on the BF2 TTP server. It was this past Saturday, but I have no idea who the admins were. My account name is famousdarren.

3. Your server has been in my favorites for at least a year now and I hope that some of your admins can recognize the screenname as someone who has never had problems and has always been part of a squad to promote team play. In the future I will manually put in my password so no one else can us my ID.

4. In the future you will see that I am not the type who does things to get banned and that I am a contributing member to squads and servers. I choose your server because it promotes team work, something that I value.

Famousandy is a friend of mine who I often play with. He is usually on your server or one other of our favorites server whenever we play.

Do you know how many times we get as the reason for getting banned was because the account owner was not doing it, but it was a little brother, a friend, a cousin, etc? What is the phrase, if I had a nickle for everytime....

Why am I suppose to believe you when you say it was your brother? At the end of the day, does it really matter, because who is owner of the account - you are. The account is your responsibility and no one elses. When you allow someone to have access to your account, whether intentional or unitentional, that person is acting on your behalf.

So, he says you were banned for team killing. He is correct. You are banned for intentional team killing.

I ask again, why are we to believe this story? It is very important for you to be absolutely honest here. I will await your response before I put your ban up to the admin community for a vote.

You are right, there is no way to prove who was using my account, and at the end of the day, my character frustrated a lot of people, and for that I apologize and accept responsability. My password will no longer be stored in the game. The only lagitimacy that I can think of is to ask the admins about my history and if this behavior is characteristic of me. I am guessing they will either say that I am a good squad member, or they don't remember me (which would also be a good sign cause it means I am not doing anything to draw attention). As I said earlier, you are 1 of 2 servers on my favorite list that I have been playing for nearly a year. I myself would not want to do anything to jeapordize my status on the server. The admins have voted and decided to overturn your ban. I will caution you to watch your actions carefully on the server as I can assure you we will. There will be no more execuses accepted that someone else used your account. It is your account, your property and up to you to maintain control.

I have posted the rules for the server that you need review. Your ban will be removed from the system early tonight when I get home from work. If you have issues connecting to the server, send me a PM.
