Thread: Banned from server :(

I was just about to join a TPG server with dust2 and I was greeted with a message saying that I have been banned. Strange.

#1. Why do you think you got banned?
To be honest, I'm not sure. Every once in a while I'll put up a ridiculous tagname just for shits and giggles, but that's about the limit. I have no mic and don't use the chat list much. I'm considerably quiet, and don't have much invoice to arguements. If someone fights with me online, I just stay firm and tell him to leave me be.

#2. What server were you on? What admin do you believe banned you? What admins were there playing?

I've been banned from all servers, so knowing which one is anybody's guess. I have been playing on servers like TPG's for quite some time, but I don't take the time to memorize the admin's identities; just the fact that they have logos suits me knowing. My SteamID is -----.

#3. Why should you be unbanned?
As I've said before, I'm calm, quiet, and keep to myself. Online gaming is online gaming; there shouldn't be drama. I love servers such as yours, and it really stumped me when I came across this. Alas, you have public servers, free for any; I don't own the whole battlefield.


#4. A written statement that you will refrain from doing anything that will get you banned again.
This being the first ban I've recieved in a LONG time, I'll go through the basics.
- I'll respect my privilages to play, and that I'm here to have fun.
- I'll understand that others like me are here to have fun too. It shouldn't be taken away from them.
- I'll comply with TPG administrators, whatever the reason, no matter the scale.

Thanks for reading all. I hope something is done. This server has been on my favorites, and having not visited it in a while, I was baffled and confused by this.

FYI, That's not your steamid, to find your steam id:

join a server and type 'status' in console, youll see your name in the list, the steam_0:1:######### is your steam id.

or you can goto steamID converter (beta) and use your community id (what your steam community profile name is, for example mine is 'bunni' from http://steamcommunity.com/id/Bunni , i enter bunni and it gives my steam id.

We have located your ban. You were banned for intentionally tossing the bomb in a location it could not be retreived and then leaving the server. Your actions compromised your teams ability to complete the objective - and definitely cast you as a griefer.

This is a teamplay server and we demand that all players work together to accomplish the objective. Anything to add before I put up the vote?

You were banned on 5/15/11 the map information is not available as the ban is almost 6 months old. The bomb can't be thrown out of the map, but there are several places the bomb cannot be retrieved by the T's as you well know.
