Thread: infantry only???

i think we should do a infantry only match, all city maps. im getting annoyed with tanks and apc's and what ever else you find. Yes your hear from a jet whore, but i do infantry all the time. well just an idea.

You start as Infected. The survivors shoot and slash their way through the horde all the way to the elevator and then....tank music.
The survivors then take a seat in the waiting area in front of the elevator and sip cocktails while the tank switches between players, then to bot then auto dies.
They go down the elevator, step over the carcus of the tank they so wittingly outsmarted and proceed on to safety.

Then you are survivor. You and your team hack and slash and shoot and push your way to the elevator only to get tank music as you enter the last hall towards the elevator. Then you get ruthlessly hammered in a narrow corridor while you hold a pistol or axe. Your whole team is wiped. Then the children on the other team proceed to let you know how you got owned.

So...you get put at an instant disadvantage for the rest of the game, trying to catch up due to a simple glitch.


I just have to ask. Why did valve not make a ladder for the infected to go up the elevator shaft so one team doesn't get a tank advantage over another team?

And why does every snot nosed, spoiled little brat think in that situation that it is time to talk shit?

i also see it happen when i play first level of swamp fever we start we go past the gasstation tank music tank spawns we manage to kill it we make it to the saferoom other team starts they pass the gasstation move through the village and we get a tank the second the raft passes and opens for the survivors they quickly get in leaving our tank behind for me the raft crescendo in swamp fever 1 determines the outcome of the level in versus make it past there and it's practicly over there's almost no good attack spot after it

Wouldn't happen if people hadn't bitched about tanks all being in the same exact spot for both teams. Valve went and added a 5% map distance variation at that point.

Which then people bitched about.

And what would have been so incredibly difficult for Valve to program the Tank in the EXACT SAME SPOT for both teams?

Doesn't having the Tank in the same spot mean balance (assuming a team of veterans aren't going against a team of total n00bs)?
