Thread: Strategy for Dalian Plant, Sharqi Peninsula and Daqing Oilfields against NUNYA

OK, the match is in about 2 weeks, we need to start doing our planning.

Any ideas for strategies and tactics for these maps?

For Dalian, I was thinking that we have one SL take a F35 and HALO over Main Entrance (the front flag on the Chinese side) and another SL takes the other to the USMC equivalent. Then two other SLs take the black hawks and move up. Of course, we have an air/helo squad for air support. From there, we will take it as it comes.

For Daquing, there are a couple key flags, like Gas Station, and North Oilfield. I have to go look them up but they have the tanks and extra choppers. Oil Cisterns...not so important. Sure its central, but nothing of any importance is there.

Sharqi, it really depends on which side. Not really sure how best to approach it.

Any and all comments and suggestions would be helpful.

For Dalian all we would need is a foothold on mainland....yes it's nice to cap Main Entrance, but if we cap it and then get overwhelmed, we're left with no flags and a couple of dead squads that will have to spawn on the carrier...we need to secure 2 flags....one open flag (main en, reactor t. north or south docks) and a closed flag (maintenance or warehouse).

For Daqing, Oil cisterns, in my opinion, is very important precisely because it is central. You are close to power plant, old city and refinery from that one flag and can easily disperse your attack from either direction. I would say that oil cisterns, refinery and north oilfield would be crucial (north will only be crucial if we have a 2nd proper helo combo). Then we can easily stop their flag caps with our bomber and heli crew.

Sharqi, if we are MEC, the helo combo should be a SL and his gunner/pilot. Take out the enemy cobra... after that, clear out the roof of TV Station...after that, the SL bails....his squad fills up....2 of the SM's create their OWN squad and then fill them up...this way we will have 3 squad leaders on top of the TV station in no time. (This is what FCW did against us, we only had 1 squad defending TV Station and we got overwhelmed in seconds)

It is essential for the commander to spot the enemy HELO after doing a scan right at the beginning of the round.

If we're on the U.S. side, I think stealing the enemy chopper is of great importance...and more importantly, having an ACE heli combo fly that stolen chopper....after that it would be eliminating the armor with the heli's and our ground crew can take care of the rest. It is essential to hold surveillance and hotel because they both have AA and can cause alot of trouble for our heli.

to steal the enemy chopper we don't need the whole team there...all that is needed is close air support to spawn rape at beach house, and a couple of troops on the ground ready to snatch the chopper....simple as that...a 4 man squad

Are these 64 player maps or 32 players? Can someone tell me where NORTH OIL FILELD is on the Daqing Oilfield map?

For Dalian Plant as US capping MAIN ENTRANCE worked well against FCW during the first match. I think if we have a squad cap and defend maintaince, warehouse and Reactor towers, we will have a good foot hold on the map and 2 spawn points that can not be Artied. As Chinese, we get together 5 fast moving 4 man squads and aggressively cap them out.

For Sharqui, as difficult as this sounds as MEC, first off, only a three people spawn, pilot, gunner and CMDR. I like the idea of the MEC Chopper keeping down the US chopper, having the gunner jump out on the roof, have a squad spawn in, create 5 different squad, have the rest of the team spawn in and barrel down the stairs to cap the flag and possible jack the US chopper. They, NYNUA, will all spawn at the start and will be so far away from TV station preparing for the oncoming assault, we can cap them from behind. Like I said, difficult and unlikely. AS US, we man every tow, AA and mine every possible position that will allow them to get through. We should let them cap construction and point farm them.

I don’t know if capping cistern is key. It is the central point on the map and that is all it has to offer. I think we need to cap and defend the flags that have the greatest threat or asset. That means keeping EAST OIL FIELD to keep the chopper, West oil field to keep the AA, Old City to keep the AA and Refinery to keep that AA. Get the bomber up and have the pilot be a SL and drop SM off bus stop style at these 4 flags, create new squads and defend. Let them come to us. Gas station offers a tank and cistern is right in the middle of the map, but keeping 4 flags vs. 2 is in our favor.

Old city is an interesting flag because you can base rape from there..have a couple of AT dudes up in the mountains keeping their jets down and raping their uav and scanner from there...

that's a nice flag to have...plus you have AA and a helipad to refuel the cobra.

The same can be said about refinery.

East oilfield = north oilfield.

Old city only has a tank. Refinery has an AA and a tank, Gas Station has a tank, the two west flags have a tank and AA, though they are closer to the PLA main base. Those I think are the key flags with assets.

Logistically, a complicated tactic of having all those SLs, join the squads of the pilot and gunner and jump out is a night mare. We need to keep it more in line with KISS. I like having the gunner hop out and form a squad to squad bomb the radio tower.

I'll do my best to constantly scan and look for the helos and constantly call stuff out.

Would it be worth using a TS/Vent server for SL and me and use that in stead of the commander channel? This way, SLs can coordinate with each other when they are assigned with the same objective. That way, air support can be called in faster and more accurately as the SL is getting the direct coordinates so to speak.

yea but refinery is far away from the chinese airfield (I'm thinking we're USMC).

But yea cap Old City as USMC and cap refinery as Chinese in order to base rape. It's a bit more difficult to get to the U.S. airfield though.

Refinery tank + AA

Gas station tank

I think a Ventrilo or TS channel with the commander and all squad leaders would be good....that way the SL's can communicate with each other too.

I stand corrected.

This is why I ask for input because I am always going to miss something so someone can point it out and correct me for the betterment of the team.
